The :■ Premiers' conference, having reached a deadlock over the railway unification proposal, decided upon an extension of the Tooumwal-Finlay railway with a view of testing wiiether the third rail device is safely applicable to the lines, The cost of tho experiment, between £SOOO and £IO,OOO, will be borne on a per capita basis the participants.
The conference favored substantial unification of the machinery for the collection of Federal and State taxes in place- of the present separate collections. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
