HAMILTON STOCK MARKETS. The Formers' Co.op, Auctioneering Co. report : Beef.—The supply of prime beef in the yards Is fast diminishing with a consequent advance in values. It was anticipated that when the commandeer was lifter.; by the Government that the export ccioic.inier. would cease operations. This has no' proved to be the case, and much is still being frozen at the old rates. This, however, ;s not likely to last long as values must, poc.n advance to a point bEyond freezing limits. Mutton—The market for mutton Is also hardening. Store Cattle.—Generally speaking there Is i strong forward movement in the store cattle market with every indication of a continuance for some little time ahead. Forward condition cows, which a, week or two ago were entirely neglected, have quite suddenly Jumped into prominence. Good sales of young cattle have also beon recorded. Store Sheep.—Forward conditioned sheep are ■;t>i' maintaining their position as are also ewe l ) in lamb. The latter are steadily advancing. ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. Christehurch, July 14. At the Addington market the yarding was smaller than usual in all classes, excepting fat cattle. There was an advance in store sheep and cattle prices, and fat sheep reached the highest values since last season. Store sheep values were about 2s a head in advance n? iast week's quotations. Dunedln, July 14. All classes of stock were In good demand at the Burnside sales tt>-»ay. Freezing buyers, butchers and country clients were all anxious to secure the quota of supplies, and taken all round tho prices realised were a decided advance oti late rates. Fat Cattle.—A small yarding numbering 153 head. The quality was medium. The number penned was not sufficient for butchers' requirements, and in consequence a buoyant sale resulted. Values were £1 a head in advance of the previous week's rates. The average price realised for good quality oi beef ranged from 57s 6d to 60s per hundred pounds. Extra prime heavy-weight bullocks realised from £29 to £33 ss, priime £22 10s to £26 17s 6d, medium £lB to £2l 10s,- light and unfinished sorts from £l6 upwards. Prime heifers realised from £lB 10s to £27 17s 6d, medium £ls to £l7 10s, light and aged from £ll upwards. Store Cattle.—A sparse supply of store cattle came forward, the quality being medium. AH were .disposed of at prices on a par with those which ruled at last week's sales. Sheep—A large yarding of fair quality, a total of 3167 being offered for sale. Buyers were numerous and a good demand existed for all classes. Quite a number of farmers were operating for sheep for topping-off purposes. Prime quality sheep were sold at Is above last *eek's rates, while sscondary and Inferior sheep were Is 6d per head dearer.' Extra prime heavyweight wethers realised 63s !)d to 755, priime 50s to Gls. medium 40s to 47s 6d, light and unfinished sorts from 36s upwards. Extra prime heavyweight ewes realised up to 665, prime 44s to 51s 3d, medium 35s to 42s (Id, light and aged from 30s upwards. Lambs—A medium yarding of fair quality, numbering 1131 head. All classes were in good demand, freezing buyers being keen operators. The prices realised were fully tip to last week's high rates, ranging from 25s 9d tO'42s Bd per head. Pigs.—A small yarding, the demand for which was very keen. Al! classes snowed an advance on late rates to the extent of from 7s 6d to 10s a head. Best baconers realised from lid to is per lb., and best porkers from Is to Is l%d per lb. MEETING OF JERSEY ASSOCIATION. There was a representative attendance at a meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Jersey Breodrs' Association on Saturday, Mr. H B. Lepper presiding, when it was decided to adopt the executive's proposals that a sale of Jersay. stock should be held under the management of the branch. The date of the aaie Is 6th October, and the location will be the Taranakl A. and P. grounds. The decision was practically a unanimous one, and the fact that already sixty entries have been received indicates that the success of the sale is assured. The entries desired are hulls, maiden heifers, and heifers carrying first calf. All the arrangements will be carried out by the executive. LONDON TALLOW MARKET. ' The N.Z.
