PARK WEEK.
THE ORGANISING WORK. The Park Week committees in connection with the £IOOO effort'met last evening and reported" progress. Special arrangements are being made to cater for the children, and the annexe will be garlanded as a fairy land, the work being under the direction of Mr. E. Whittle, junr. This will be the special feature on Thursday afternoon, August 11, and at the request of the organisers the Education Board' has agreed to givo the schools a half-holidfty on that date. It is desired to have three ladies from each suburb of the town who are willing to undertake to collect for Paddy's market from their respective areas, and to take charge of the stalls containing their goods on the Friday evening, and all. day Saturday in Park Week. Ladies willing to give assistance in this direction are requested to communicate with Mrs. Burgess or Mr. P. E. Stainton. A further meeting of the committea will be convened when arrangements are sufficiently advanced.
