At Lowgarth, on 6th and 6th, I conducted a sale of pedigree stock on . account of Messrs. J. W. .T. Gardiner and S. It. Sollev, and a sale of grade cows on account Mr. N. Burke. Top prices for pedigree cows ranged from 50 to 70 gns; top prices for hulls Tanged from 20 to 54 gns. Mr. N. Burke's grade cows sold particularly well. This herd of 40 averaged £23; top prices ranging from £26 to £3l; weaner heifers made from £3 18s to £4 13s; pigs, slips, 20s; store pigs, £2 3s to £2 6s; sows, £0 to £lO 15s; 1 marc realised £53; geldings, £6 10s, £2l, £37;. pony, do, £4, ids and £l2 10s; sundries" realised good values.

At Rahotu, on 7th, I conducted a clearing sale of dairy cows on account air. Run Bishop. This herd of 80 cows averaged £l9 15s. the herd contained a fair sprinkling of good Jerseys, which sold particularly well, prices for this class ranging mostly from £25 to £33. The top price realised for the herd was £4O; prices for other classes ranged from £l4 to £2O; a 3-year Jersey bull made £29; 2-year do £6 to £7 10s; hoggets 225. At Bird TCoad, Stratford, on same day on account Mr. ,T. Willis, his herd of 37 cows sold at prices ranging mostly from £2l to £29. The whole herd averaged £l9 10s; In calf heifers made from £ll to £l2; sows and litters, £G 10s to £l2; sows, £8 10s to £9; store pigs, 2Es: gelding, £47 to £l4; 1 mare, £ 39; pony, &5. A large quantity of furniture and sundries sold well. On the 9th at Stratford, on account Mr. J. 0. Palder, herd of S3 cows averaged £l!i 3s. Tho top prires realised ranged from £lB to £2l; in calf heifers sold well, ranging from £2l 10s to £23,.and from S5 2s to £8 5s for inferior sorts. Other quotations: Geldings. £8 to £36; mare, £18; mixed sheep, 18s; sows, £9 10s to 12% gas.; boar, £1 lis fid; sundries and furniture were disposed of at satisfactory prices. At Douglas on tho 21st ult. I conducted a sale of pedigree and registered milking Shorthorns on account Mr. Arthur Needham, Buyers were in attendance from all parts of the North Island, thero also being a few from the South Island. Despite tho rough state of the weather the sale , went with an easy swing throughout, good prices being obtained and tho cattle eventually being well- distributed. Top prices for the cows ranged from 30 to 50 gns. The herd sire. "Lord Kitchener," was sold for 320gns. The top prices for the heifers ranged from 25 to GOgns, the bulls to 55 gns.
