NEXT SEASON'S CONTRACT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following decision was arrived at after a meeting between the Prime Minister, the Minister of Agriculture, representatives of the Wheat - Trade Committee, and the Wheat Controller:— The basis of the Government's contract for the purchase of next season's wheat crop will be 7s 3d for Tuscan and similar varieties, 7s 6d for Hunters, 7s 9d for Pearl, all f.0.b., with three farthings increment per month for six months, commencing May 1. The foregoing basis is subject to the following adjustments: (a) In the event of New Zealand having to import, an adjustment will be made on the basis of the price at which milling wheat can be purchased in February, 1921, and landed ex-wharf, having regard to the quality and to the necessary adjustment between North Island and South Island parity; (b) In the event of New Zealand -growing sufficient for its requirements an adjustment will be made on the basis of the f.o.b. Australian value, provided Australia has any exportable surplus, but in any case the purchase prices will not be less than the minimum prices stated above for the respective .varieties, jfith a monthly increment.
