Bearing on the interpretation of ''winning" Part 1 Rule 1 was amended to Include'« dend-heat for first place. Tho following addltlou vva3 made to Part 2 of P.ule 7, "Any club having committed breach of any rule, or special resolution or regulation made or passed by the conference, shall the liable, on repetition of such breach, to ptiave Its certiorate of registration cancelled by the conference." At the request of a deputation of jockeys, the president moved: "That the programme of every meeting at which a totalisator is used shall include not less than one sieeplfechase or hurdle lace or jumpers' flat race on each day, unless otherwise authorised in writing by the president." After some discussion, it was decided to make the following new Rule 6a: "The programme of every meeting at which a totalisator is to ho used shall, unless the president otherwise in writing authorises, Include (a) On each day at least one steeplechase or hurdle race or jumpers' flat race (that is t.o say a flat race confined to horsos and jockeys who have at the time of entry competed three times in a steeplechase or hurdie race); (It) If a meeting extends over two or more dai's, at least one race shall be held not being r. maiden race or race for two-year-olds or race for less distance than six furlongs), in which only apprentice jockeys shall be eligible' to ride." At the request of the jockeys, the President also moved: "That at no race meeting from May 7th to August 31st, Inclusive, shall the last race of the day be fixed for a later hour than four o'clock." The proposal was adopted after the time had been altered to 4 15 p.m. After considerable discussion, the following new Rule (Oh) was adopted: "The programme of every meetinp. whether a totalisator Is used or not, shall include: (a) At least one flat race of not less than one mile and a quarter, such race to be one of the prln«iual events on the programme; (b) If the meeting Is to be held on any day from May fth to August 31, inclusive, at least one maiden or hack and hunters' steeplechase, but shall not include more than one race on each day of less distance than six futlongs for horses three-years-old and upwards." It was also decided that no assumed name shall be used in any entry. The president requested an interview with the Government with a view to securing more effective supervision of racecourses by detection. It was agreed to impose disqualification for not less than six months in the case of any owner or person having an interest In a horse ■making a wager with a bookmaker on any horse in the race. The conference adjourned till to-morrow.
