PRICE OF SUGAR.
CANTERBURY REPORT INCORRECT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. It appears that the news from Christchurch that the Board of Trade had fixed on a osd per lb flat rate for sugar in Canterbury is not quite in accordance with fact. Seen by a reporter to-day, the chairman of the Board of Trade' (Mr. G. W. McDonald) said that the Christchuivh position had Hot been stated quite correctly. The arrangement respecting a flat rate was subject to the approval of the Board in Wellington, and it had not yet given its ruling on the matter. M*. McDonald added that if the suggestion were given effect to it would mean on the total consumption of sugar in Chrisnchureli a slightly lower price 011 :he whole than the price suggested by the Board itself, namely, 6d for cash over the counter and 6Jd for delivery.
