PEACE SOUGHT.
WISHES OF THE 'SULTAN. WANTS TO END CHAOS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 13, 10.30 p.m. London, July 12. Constantinople messages state that the Sultan after an extraordinary meeting of Cabinet, expressed a desire for peace to be concluded immediately in order to end the state of chaos in the country. Cabinet telegraphed the delegation in Anatolia to this effect. On the contrary, public opinion opposes signing the Treaty in its present form. The British have taken over the supreme command in Constantinople. A stem Note has been sent to the Turkish Government demanding the cessation of the dispatch of medical stores to Thrace in anticipation of a Greek advance.— Aus.-N.Z. Oab'v Assn.
