SENTENCE NOT CONFIRMED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, July 13. Promulgation has been made of the decision of the court-martial in the case of Private Gregory McCarthy, which was heard on Friday. Accused was found guilty and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment, but the convening officer, Lieutenant-Colonel McDonald, would not confirm the sentence. On release by the military, McCarthy was immediately arrested by the police, and appeared in the Police Court thi3 morning charged with using and continuing to use a name other than that by which he was described in the published list of military defaulters. A remand was granted, on the application of the police, until the 21st.
