L»«t tfight At a meeting of the executive of trie New Zealand lfockey Association, the Canterbury Association forwarded a challenge for the Hatch Cup. It was decided to awnrd the cup to the winners of '.he match between Canterbury and the team forwarding the next challenge. The challenge from the Whangarel Association for the Nordon Cup w,s accepted. It was decided to revive the North v. South Island fixture this year, the match to be played in Wellington on a date suitable to the Wellington Association. WANGANUI DEFEATS TARANAKI. Wretched weather prevailed at W.ingonui last Saturday, when teams representing tile above provinces met. As the scores indicates, the home team had no difficulty in securing a win, notching six goals to ono by Taranaki, hit by Priest. The state of the ground was against combined play, but Wanganu! exhibited some excellent footwork that kept Taranakl mainly on the defensive. Taranaki's only score was mada as a result of a corner hit, Priest sending In a hard drive, which found the net. Priest later on drove hard, but Howatson effected a brilliant save. Priest and Humphries played well for Taranaki.
