Tuan secured considerable financial help, which is of vital importance, as thinese soldiers invariably decline to flfent unless paid in advance. Tuan guarantees the safety of the foreign population of Peking, where the situation is easier, though complicated. The,; Aeroplane Corps at Peking has decided.to o-opcrate with Tuan in the event of bombing machines being sent from Pao-ning-fu. Meanwhile Chinese expect that Tuan's opponents will take refuge in Tientsin.
