CANTERBURY MARKET. Chrlstchurch, July B. Belated deliveries of wheat continue to be made, but the season is practically over. Opinions in regard to the area to be seeded differ, but the General impression anionjst those In a position to judge, is that the 1921 harvest will be larger, not so much In middle and north Canterbury as In the southern part of the province. The position has Improved during the past few weeks as a result of the Government's appeal, and although several recent ' estimates are considered to be on the extravagant side, it is safe to predict a much larger crop than in 1920. There are few oats offering, and apparently there is little now that Is not in second hands. The atop is the result of inactivity. Prices as between merchants have slightly eased, but to the extent only of about Id. per bushel. The position in regard to potatoes is the same. The North Island is well supplied, and the southern outlet is small. Onions are purchasable at £0 at country stations. Admittedly, (he crop Is not keeping too well, but growers are justified In expecting more when the retail price in the North Island towns is 3d. to 4d. per lb.
