THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP. By Telegraph —Press Assn— o ipyftrtt Paris, July (5. In the- French open golf championship at Versailles Lafltte (France) and Hagon (America) tied with 298 each. Abe Mitchell took 299, and Duncan was eighth, with 314. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A foursomes bogey match was played by the ladles of the New Plymouth Club yesterday afternoon for prizes presented by Miss Bremer. The match was won by Miss Goldwater and -Miss Home. The best scores were:— Misses Goldwater and Home !) down Miss Rollo and Mrs. A. Smith in down Miss Foote and Mrs Biackley .... 11 down Misses Greig and Winflelcr 12 down Entries for a medal match to be played next Tuesday close to-morrow. It is hoped to receive large entries from juniors, and prizes donated by Mrs. Rollo and Mrs. Johns will be given for the best scores by seniors and juniors. The men will play the fourth and final round of the Standish Cup to-morrow afternoon.
