WESTERN PARK.
NEW BOARD MEET. The inaugural meeting of the Western Park Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present:—Messrs- A. L. Humphries (president) in the chair, G. A. Corney, E. F. Sykes, F. L. Hartnell, V. Elliott, E. Hine, J. B. Barthorp, W./D. Webster, A. C. Lawry, G. Loveridge, L. H. Honeyfield (secretary). Cr. F. J. Hill represented the Borough Council. Mr. E. D. Kingdon tendered an apology for nonattendance. A balance-sheet was submitted by Mr. Hill, wh oalso informed members that a donor had agreed to give a double ornamental gate, costing in the vicinity of £2O, providing two smaller gates costing £3 17s Od wore also donated. On the suggestion of Mr. Elliot, it was decided that the whole Board meet on the ground ■ at an early date, Messrs. W. W. Smith and V. Davies to be invited to attend. A proposal was made by Mr. Honeyfield that a day be held for the Park. The speaker felt sure that a considerable amount could be raised by this means. _ The meeting subsequently adjourned till the grounds have been inspected.
