Mr. P. R. Cooke (for the Union): That system robs the •workers of their individuality and makes slaves of women. His Honor: The women did not look like slaves. They were strong, intelligent looking women, who resisted interference with the conditions under which they were Urorking. The "team" system referred to by Mr. Justice Stringer is not the system that obtained in the old days when the nigger-driving indulged in brought the system into ill repute.
