COURSING.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. Members of the New Plymouth Club are making every effort to assure the success of the New Zealand Waterloo Cup meeting, which Is being held at the club's grounds, Glen Avon, on July 30, and 31. Last night there Was a large attendance of members at a meeting over which Mr. T. Richards presided. A long discussion ensued on some suggestions matte by dog owners at the recent meeting, and it was eventually decided that the Quarters of the slipper should be brought In line with the width of the main run. The judging is also to be done on horseback, the judge thus following every movement, of the dogs in the coursing, and the present judge's stand in the arena will he used for another purpose. Whilst the Waterloo -meeting is on it was arranged that a conference of delegates should be held, when amongst other matters to be discussed, will be that of deciding the locality for a combined Australian and Dominion Waterloo Cup meeting for 1921. Mr. P. Doughty has been appointed the local deleRate, whilst amongst other well-known authorities expected hero during the meeting Is Mr. H. Divers, secretary of the National Coursing- Club, Dunedin. Regarding the approaching meeting, the secretary announced that entries were coming in very freely, several coming from the South Island. During the week the party intend organising a hare drive, to supplement the ham already In hand. Appreciative reference was made to the me and attention given to the hares by Mr. C. Haskell, who has given the matter a great de)il of attention. He anticipates having th/ harea fit to rac# any 4ogi by end 00 tfas mwttk.
