Sandule, 10.2 (Williams) 1, Bright Plume, 9.13 (Cairns) 2, Tullilah 9.11 (Thompson). Nineteen started. Tullilah was the quickest away, with Pistoller and Suma next. Sandule topk charge before they reached the bridge, followed by Youghal, Merry Bob, and Tullilah. At the next jump Two Blues, Pistoller, and Colonel Knut fell. Passing the stand CaVtain W and Mneon lost their riders, Mneon falling and breaking its neck. Sandule was never headed, and stalling off a bold bid by Bright Plume, won by two lengths. Time, 5.41—a record for the race. Beltane got badly away and finished fifth.—Aus.-N.Z Cable Asns.
