In the doubles semi-final at Wimbledon, Garlnnd and Williams defeated Tilden and Johnston, 4—6, 6—4, 6—3, 4—6, 6—2.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received July 2, 11.10 p.m. London, July 1. It wns Mile. Lenglen'a day at Wimbledon, where a great crowd assembled to see her play. She was brilliant in the singles, In which her smashes were chiefly responsible for her victory. In the men's doubles semi-final, Tilden was rather erratic at times, though the match • ■ in which he ' and Johnston were beaten by Oarlnnd and Wllllnims was splendidly fought. Rain stopped piny before tho other semifinal wns completed. Kingcote and Parke won the first set from Davson and Mavrogor-dato.—Aus.-N Z. Cable Assn. Received July 2, 8 p.m. London, July 1. In the final of the ladies' singles championship, Mndemolselle Lenglcn beat Mrs. Lambert Chambers, 6—3, 6—o.
