Carpentler is expected to arrive In New York on July 2 in order to confer with Dempsey and his promoter (Curley) to form tentative plans for the championship contest. Carpentler sails for France on July 10, returning to the United States in September. He will meet Battling Levinsky it) October. New York newspapers have received a telegram from Jack Kearns stating that he and Dempsey are travelling to New York to extend a challenge to Carpentler ln person. Dempsey will arrange to imeet an American contender In the event of Carpentler not accepting the offer to fight for 'the championship this year. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. STRATFORD SPORTS CLUB. The Stratford Sports and Pastimes Club have not been able to secure registration up to the present, but are in correspondence with the Dominion Boring Council, and it Is expected that registration will be completed shortly. It is the Intention of the club to hold a tournament as soon ns a permit can be obtained. The club is now established on a ound basis and Its future prospects are exceedingly bright.
