Dealings in tho New South Wales new 6% per cent, loan opened at 99, touched 98Vfc, and closed at 98%. THE COMMONWEALTH BANK. Sydney, July 1. The Commonwealth Bank has increased the rate of Interest from 3 to 3% per cent, on balances reaching £IOOO and 3 per cent, on an' additional £3OOO. AN AUSTRALIAN LOAN. Melbourne, July 1. The Commonwealth is shortly floating a loan, probably of 20 millions, It may bear Interest at 0 per cent. The loan funds are exhausted, 20 millions having been spent since January. PRICE OF GOLD. « Wellington, July 1. The Treasury supplies the following official information: The price of gold to-day is £5 3s Jd per ounce for shipments to America and India.
