Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London office under date of 23rd Inst.—Tallow: There will be no public sales this week. The Farmers' Co-op. report as follows: At Opunake. on Monday. 21st, we held our foTtnightly sale Rough weather prevailed and there was a small yarding of static Dairy heifers scld in a lino at £l6 12s Gd (good sorts, well grown Jersey cross), sow and litter £l2 lfis. sundries on account of Mr. Geo Corfcin sold well. At Mannia, on Tuesday, we had a good entry of cattle and all sold at the hammer. A line of dairy heifers, Jersey, were yarded and sold readily. Store pigs and sows lo farrow were in demand. At Stratford, on Tuesday, we report a good entry of cattle. Kidding seemed more free on all lines than at recent sales. Weaner heifers were in fair demand. Store cows sold at late rates. At Auroa, on Friday, a small entry came forward. • All sold readily at the hammer. Cows forward brought to £7 ss, light cows £3 5s to £5 15s, iambs 18s Id, waggon mare aged £9 10s. On Monday we conducted a most successful clearing sale of pedigree and grade Freisians on account of Mr W J. Bell. Welwyn, Hawera. Despite the inclement weather there was an attendance of buyers, the whole of the Taranakl districts being well representee. 'Hie prices have already appeared in the News ,On tho same day, at Mahoe, we had a successful sale on account of Mr F. 11. Barrett. Although tho rain eamo down in torrents, it was not sufficient to damp the splTits of the buyers; tho herd averaged £lB 18s. A Matapu, on Tuesday, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr A. H. Gilbert Trices ranged from £l2 to £3O. On Wednesday, at Mr. W. White's, Manaia, although a fair number of the cows were showing age, the whole of tlm herd were ;t good milking type and all In splendid condition. The young cows sold well Prices £lB to £45, average £2l 4s, The older sorts were neglected and hard to quit, dairy Jersey heifers made from £ls to £26, Jersey weaners £B. On Wednesday, 23rd. we held n clearini>; sale of dry stock and implements on account of Mr J F. Cat*®*, Ohangai. All farm tools and sundries sold well. Waggon brought £56, and on all lines bldddlng was keen. Jersey cross weaner heifers brought £5 Bs. wellgrown Holsteins ditto £4 7s and £4 10a, Holstein weaner steers good 37s Gd, lamibs 16s. ' STUD STOCK SALE. The usual breeders' consignment sale was hold on the Falmerston North Show Grounds on Thursday last, when tnero was a very large attendance of cattle men Business opened with Frisian bulls, but the only ones which changed hands were a pair of two-.vear-olds from Mr. T. H Overton's Canterbury stud. These were sold at lit) guineas and 50 guineas respectively, the former bein* purchased by C. O. Cook, of Nelson, and the other by R. A. Wilson, of Bulls. Milking Shorthorns were well represented on the male side, but there was very little demand. The principal sales were for 11. Brown, Auckland. Taanakl Nonnarei, at 51 guineas, to J. Watson, Canterbury, and Tamaki Emigrant 3rd, at 44 guineas, fo G D. Goodrich, Taihnpe. Other bulls brought from 20 to 40 guineas, somo selling as low as 10 guineas There was practically m- demand for other classes of bulls, and very little was done in tho female sections except in the Jerseys, in which some tery spirited bidding was seen for cow and heifers from Mr. P. Jones, Woodvllle, a record of 300 guineas being made. The principal sales of Jersey females were: On account of P. Jones, Woodvllle, Tw.vlish's Clematis, at 300 guineas, to A. E AYeston. Hawera; Sultan's Clematis, at 360 guineas, and Miss Petune, at 325 guineas, to Murray Bros, Opotiki; Victoria's Charm, at 100 guineas, to ]•! A. Hamm, Huknnul; Charm's Clematis, at 100 guineas, to R. O'Donnell. Bimnythorpe. On account of J. W. Hamlin, Kaimatarau: Miller Twylish, at 70 guineas, to F A. Tone. Pnlmerston North: Patch's Darkle, at GG guineas, to H. R. Phillips, Te Rehunga; Twylish's Fancy, at 50 guineas, to H. Smith. Colyton; Patch's Lily, at 55 guineas, to H R Phillips, To Rehunga: Twylish's Milky Way, nt 50 guineas to W. • A. Anderson, Lertn. Others sold at from 40 guineas to 48 guineas.
