A PREMATURE EXPLOSION. Two men named Hawkea and I<ov*ridgo received a severe shock and slight injuries through a premature explosion occurring during dredging operation* ri the port yesterday morning. . The men were engaged la blasting boulders under the water in the harbor, and to carry out this work they were in a boat, from which they lowered the charges. Just before the accident a charge was prepared and the fuse lit, ■ but as soon as the charge had been lowered a few feet it exploded, and th« concussion shook the boat and knocked ' tiie men over, one of them being hit b* tlio end of the boat.
