BOWLING.
STRATFORD CLUB. The annual meeting of the Stratford fowling Ciub was held at the Town Hall on Friday opening, about thirty members being present. The president (Mr. 3. W. McMillan) occupied the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet was adopted. > The following office-bearer were elected: ('resident, Mr. .T. S. Lyons; Tice-president, Mr. T. A, Nicholson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. I). Carman; green warden, Mr. W. Harris (re-elected); auditor, Mr. P. Skoglund (reelected) ; committee, Messrs. C. Martin, H. Edgecombe, 0. Smart, J. W. McMillan, W. McDonald; solo selector, Mr. C. Martin (reelected) ; delegates to the Centre, the President and Mr. .T. W. McMillan. It was decided that the incoming committee make a fast rule that the games be finished by March 1. The subscription was fixed as follows: Active £3 3s, first year and non-active members £2 2s, commercial travellers 10s c<J. 'New members were elected as follows: Messrs A Davis, W. B. Foley, R. D. Wilson. The meeting then resolved itself Into n social gathering, and an enjoyable time was silent, tho members contributing impromptu songs and stories. In presenting the medals won by represenatives of the Stratford Club at the Dominion tournnment, held at Chrlstehureh, Mr. McMillan congratulated the winners and the club on their success. Mr. A. Smart was associated as skip v:ith Mr. Lyons, in winning second place in the pairs. Mr. McMillan expressed his pleasure In referring to the 0. M. Curtis championship being won by Mr. W. McDonald. Mr Lyons also congratulated Mr. McDonald on his win which was the second occasion, especially from the fact that he. was runner-up. The medal associated with the championship was the special gift of the retiring president (Mr. McMillan). Mr. Sharp presented the medal he had donated for the junior championship, to the winner, Mr. Hay, and urged that every assistance should be given to young players. The president, apologised for the absence of Mr. J. D. Sole, president of the Taranai Centre. He presented the winners of the i Easter pairs, Messrs. .T. S. Lyons (skip) and W. Robinson (lead) with their trophies. Messrs ; Robinson and Hay, as colts, were specially i congratulated. Mesrs. J. S. McDonald and i Ci. T. Walters were the runners-np. The j winners returned thanks. During the evening a lengthy toast list was J honored and vocal items were given by Messrs. D. McKearney, W. Robinson, G. T. Walters, R. ' Jamleson, S. Sharp, R. D. Wilson, J. H. Thompson. T. A. Nicholson; recitations by ! Mr. A. Woodhead; Instrumental selections 1 by Mr. R. Cottier (violin). Mr. W. Robin- ; son and Mr. J. H.
