ANTWERP WOOL SALES. London, June 24. At the Antwerp Australian wool rales 16,000 bales were offered and 4000 sold. Continental buyers were numerous. There was little animation, but the close was flnmed. The average prices were the same as on July HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. Mr. Newton King's ■ reports : On Tuesday, June 22, I held my monthly auction of hides and tallow to a full bench of buyers, when I catalogued 952 hides and calfskins, 106 tins of tallow and sundries. In sympathy with sales in other centres, prices declined 5d to 7d for cow and 6d for ox, and Is 6d for calf skins. Light hides being most affected. Inferior and damaged hides were not wanted and realised very low prices. Tallow was also very dull of sale. I quote: Ox stout 16% d to 17d, heavy 15% d to 16% d, medium 15<£d to 16% d, light 13d to 14d, cut 12d to 15% d. Cow: Heavy 13% d, medium 12d to 13% d, light ll%d to 13y 4 d, cut 10% d to ll%d. Farmers' ox 9d to ll%d, cow 9%d to £lo%d, cut, slippy and muddv 5%d to 9d. Yearlings and kip 9d to 12Vid, damaged 7%d. Calfskins 14% d to lOMid, cuts 10% d, slippy 6d, dry 2s 6d each. Horse: Heavv 29s to sOs, light 17s to 245, slippy ss. Tallow in tins 30s to 435. Horse hair Is 4d per lb. Horse tails Is 8d each. Goats 2s 6d each.
