MAIN TRUNK SLIPS.
SPECIAL TRAIN ARRIVES HERE A Press Association message from Auckland says that owing to slips on the Main Trunk the express from Wellington, which was due at Auckland at 8.38 on Saturday morning, did not arrive until midnight. The express due at 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon arrived at 1.20 o'clock yesterday morning. The delay on the Main Trunk inconvenienced Taranaki travellers. Oh Saturday morning some doubt existed in New Plymouth regarding the Rarawa's movements, as Captain Noi-bury, who was coming by train; to fill Captain Bark's place, was delayed, but eventually he reached here late on Saturday night, and the Rarawa sailed for One* hunga about II.SO p.m. Passengers travelling from Auckland for Taranaki missed the connection at Marton on Saturday" the Wellington mail train coming through" at the Usual time. From Marton they were able to proceed to Hawera by a' slow train, and at Hawera a special was put on for New Plymouth, arriving here about Mm jtfslools ea Situi;4ay iMb» "
