ARCHBISHOP AND ANTHEM.

i A DENIAL OF DISLOYALTY. By Telegraph.— Vttsa Assu.—Copyright. Received June 23, 11.30 p.m. New York, June 23. The Australian Press Association Agency telegraphed Archbishop Mannix asking him for his version of the Ventura incident. Archbishop Mannix replied: "The whole affair is a foolish story based on a misunderstanding. My first act, witnessed by thousands, on setting foot on American soil at San Francisco was to salute the American flag and stand uncovered during the playing of the American National Anthem. I have repeated this act on several public occasions since my arrival."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
