HAWERA WINTER SHOW.

PREPARATIONS IN PROGRESS. A large staff of workmen are engaged making alterations 'to the Hawera show buildings, made necessary by the large number of exhibits and side shows for which space will be required. For the first time in its history, the Winter Show committee will have the use of its own buildings, and it has also made terms > with the VVest Const Refrigerating Company for the use of their two halls, each with an area of 80ft by 80ft. The Lloyd George Hall and the two Lord Kitchener Halls, which,- for the past two years have been leased for cool storage to the Refrigerating Company, are now in the possession of the show committee, and this means an additional 15,000 feet for exhibition purposes. The entrance to the show will probably be by large double doors facing Rtiwe Street, anil close to the Princes Street foothpath. After Inspecting the exhlbitß In this building, visitors will pass by a covered-ln passage to a large entrance at the end of the Lloya George Hall By a specal archway, nowly made access is gained from this hall to a long corridor, on either side of which are the sample rooms. This corridor will be used for school exhibits, home Industries, fancy work, etc., and the sample rooms, will also be made to serve some useful purpose. At the bottom end of this building, which Is known as one of the Kitchener Halls, a large space, 40ft by 40ft will be reserved for competitive exhibits Through another archway, visitors will enter a spacious room formed by cutting off a por- . tion of the old corridor, and which will be furnished as a lounge., Here, vlstton will be able to rest if they so desire. From thl3 lounge admission can bo gained through another archway, to the bottom half of the J Kitchener Hall, where it is proposed to have a number of side shows, or by another large arch one will be able to pass right on to the main exhibits. The side shows will eclipse anything that has-been seen In Hawera previously, and will Include a circus, a merrv-go-round, and vaudeville shoy. Further'particulars of the alterations will be announced later.
