The indecision of policy in Mesopotamia is rapidly developing an acute situation in that country. Several disturbances have lately occurred in Baghdad. A certain agitator delivering inflammatory speeches was arrested, whereupon crowds gathered at the mosque and elsewhere, collected arms, and set out to rescue the agitator. Rioting occurred when the police intervened. The number of casualties is not known. An armoured car was attacked, and on a few shots being fired tn reply, the attackers dispersed. Recently several respectable Arab residents of Baghdad have been attacked at Bight "with stones.
