ENTRIES CLOSE TO-DAY. Sections of special interest to the young people are the amateur photography, the writing competition for office girls, and the fancy work division. The scope in photography is wide and gives opportunities for all kinds of work. There are classes for best card of six snaps (any subject), best card of nine snaps (one of each humorous, animal, and portrait study), best humorous, study, and best landscape, seascape, or marine Btudy. The class for writing for girls in offices or shops has a distinctly educational tendency, and should encourage improvements in that art so necessary in business life. The fancy work and home industires is one of the widest flelas of competition. It embraces fancy work of all kinds for adults and for" children, home-made bread, scones, pastry, cakes, sweets, jama, and jellies, pickles and sauces, bottled fruits, butter and soap. There is a class for everyone. All information from the Secretary, P.O. Box 70, Hawera, with whom entries close to-day.
