A TRAINING COLLEGE.
NEW PLYMOUTH PROPOSAL. THE APPLICATION DECLINED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Nighf. An application from the Taranakl Education Board for the establishment of a mining college at New Plymouth was before the Council of Education today. Dr. Anderson, Director of Education, snid that it was absolutely essential that a training college should be in intimate connection with a university college. Whatever claims New Plymouth might have for provision for the training of teachers it could not 'possibly be given a training college. The Council decided to decline th application.
