THE OHURA TRAGEDY.
' THE HOUSE WRECKED. ALL OCCUPANTS KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, June IC. Reports concerning the gelignite oxplosion at Tatu are still very meagre and contradictory. The only definite information the police have received is that an explosion of gelignite occurred, but not how, and that Mrs. England and her infant son and Miss Liiburn were killed.
Information received from an Ohura resident by telephone is to the effect that England put a packet of gelignite in front of the fire to dry and went away to milk the cows. It is thought perhaps the woman put the gelignite on ths stove. Mrs. England was blown out of the back door and expired a few minutes after the arrival of the doctor. Miss
Liiburn was in a separate room when the explosion occurred, and her body and that of the infant were buried under the. ruins of the house, .vliich was practically wrecked. The stove was blown to pieces.
The deceased were the only persons in the house. The explosion occurred between eight and nine o'clock on Tuesday morning It was a very frosty night on Monday, and this probably made ths gelignite exceptionally sensitive to heat
