PLUNKET SOCIETY.
| MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held on Monday last. Present: Mesdames Burgess (In 1 lie clinir). Smith, Nicholson, H. Ku'wll, Jenkins, Roebuck, Millar, Newton King, T. Shaw, ilc-i Wade, and lion, secretary. Apologies were received from Mesdames Duff, Standish, and D. Brown. The president said the mothers' rest room at the winter show had proved thoroughly successful, and that about 270 mothers and babies had used the room. The nurse's report stated: New cases, 3; babies under care, 1«S; mothers preparing milk in homes. 118; mothers shown how to make milk, 2; visits to heroes, 253; adults to rooms, SOS; babies to rooms 214; letters,
The finance report showed a, total credi balance of ,C.'i.54 TSs lrttl.
Correspondence was read from Nurse Petersen and Dr. Trilby King re. second Plunket nurse required for New Plymouth, and it was decided that Nurse Petersen's application be accepted. Letters from the secretary of the Stratford Society were read in connection with the weekly, visit of Nurse McLean, who will be in attendance at the rooms at Brougham Street on Monday afternoons during Nurse Williams' absence on leave.
It was decided that a sewing meeting of the committee be held on the afternoon of the last. Wednesday in. each month at the Plunket Rooms in order to make baby garments, which are so often asked for at the rooms. Subscriptions received since, last report:—Mrs. Weston, £2 2s; Mrs, D.
