LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. On Monday, at Kakaramea, we had a small yarding of cattle. Bidding was very slack, consequently the sale was dull. We sold on liccount of Mr. F. W. Newton, farm Implements and sundries at satisfactory prices. We quote: Store cows £3 to £5 10s, empty heifers £5 17s 6d, 20-month steers (poor condition) £4, dairy heifers £9 15s, 4-tooth wethers 35s 4(1, 2-tooth wethers 26b 6d, draught mare £26, gelding £3O 10s. At Eltham, on Wednesday, we had a small yarding, this no doubt was owing to the present low market. We quote: Dairy heifers £l3 10s, store cows (medium) £i, weaner heifers (good colors) £3 3s, 15-month steers £2 2s, weaners £1 6s, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 33s 6d, lambs 15s to 24s 4d. We held our Hawera Bale on Thursday, the Advertised number of store cattle did not come forward. We had a very successful sale on account of Mr. D. J. Willis, disposing of the whole of his dairy herd at very satisfactory ptlces. We quote: Fat end forward cows £6 to £9, stores £4 10s to £5 15s, boners £3, 2, >4 and f.f.rn. empty ewes 20s fid, f.m. empty ewes 16s, FARMERS' CO-OP. REPORT. At Opunake yards on Monday, 7th„ we report a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding was alow, but practically all stock yarded was sold. Dalty cows bought £9 and £ll 10s, lamb 3, small 13s and 14s 3d, empty heifers £5, bulls £5 7s Gd, weaner steers, good, £2 17s, S%year forward bullocks £l3 15s. At Stratford, on Tuesday, we had a good yarding of cattle.' Best cows brought to £lO 10s, light cows good condition £5 to £7, boners at late rates, weaner heifers to £3 15s, weaner steers £1 5s to £2. At Manaia, on Tuesday, we had a good yarding. Graziers were operating and bidding was more lively than at recent sales. We quote light store pigs £1 4s to £1 17s, good lambs £1 3s, best cows £lO to £ll 2s fid, forward cows £6 17s Cd to £8 15s, light cows and boners £3 15s to £6, empty heifers £6 15s, weaner steers £1 19s, ditto heifers £2 13s, dairy cows £ll to £l2 10s, dairy heifers £9 to £ll. At Inglewood yards, on Wednesday, cattle and sheep came forward well and met fair demand. Lambs brought 19s 9d, dull ditto 14s 2d, ewes in lamb 28s 9d, empty ewes 19s 9d, cull ditto 12s fid, 6-th. and f.m. wethers 27s 6d, best cows £9 10s, forward rlitto £6 19s, 20-month steers to £4 ss, 2%yeaiv ditto £7 10s, empty heifers £6, In calf ditto £8 ss. bulls £5 15s to £l2 10s, weaner steers £1 4s to £1 19s. ditto heifers £2 16s to £3, dairy cows £9 5s to £l7. I At Auroa, on Friday, we had a good yard- | Inc. which met fair demand. The whole I yarding was sold at the hammer. Clearing Sales —At Okaiawa, on Wednesday, we sold dairy stock and Implements on account Mr. A. Campbell. Dairy cows brought to £27 10s. Implements and farm sundries sold well On Thursday, at Waitnra, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. W. J. Clare Bidding came fairly well throughout, and we report a good sale, dairy cows brought £l2 to £26. Implements, sundries, and timber brought full value. On Thursday, at Riverlea, we offered on account Mr. Geo. Gibson, his dairy stock and nil farm Implements. Bidding was not brisk, but we renort a satisfactory sale. Dairy cows b-nught to £26 10s. Sundries, etc.. sold well. At WhftkantAMi on Friday, we report a
very successful sale on account of Mr. Jos. Potter. The dairy stock were brought In and handled without delay. The cows brought to £29, the herd of CO cows averaging £l9. Holsteln dairy heifers brought to £l6, Jersey weaner heifers £5 lis, Holsteln weaner heifers £3 Bs, sow and litter £6, threequarter draught gelding £3O. Implements and sundries brought full value. AUCKLAND STOCK MARKETS. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At Pukekohe, we held our monthly sale. Three-year steers £7 to £8 15s, 2 to 2%year steers £5 to £6 17s 6d, yearling to 18-months steers, £3 to £4 17s Od, calves mixed sexes l!>s to £2 ss, yearling to 18month heifers £2 10s to £3 17s 6d, heifers due in spring £4 5s to £7 ss, empty cows and heifers £3 to £O. A full yarding of beef sold to fully Westfield prices. Steers to £ls 15s, cows and heifers to £l3 ss. Best dairy cows and heifers £ls to £25, sound young cows £l2 to £ls 15s, others £8 10s to £ll 10s. We had a large entry of sheep at- Coromandel. We quote: Forward to fat wethers 34s to 38s, store wethers £1 10s, poor lambs £1 Is. At Westfleld beef was penned in average numbers and sold under steady competition at slightly improved values. We quote: Choice oxen to £2 13s per 1001b, prime £2 Bs. to £2 12s per 1001b, rough and inferior £3 to £2 6s per 1001b, cow and heifer beef sold atfroto £1 19s to £2 9s per 1001b, steers sold at from for best £lB to £2l 12s 6d, others £l3 to £l7 15s, small and inferior £9 7s 6d to £l2 17s 6d, cows and heifers sold at from £6 12s 6d to £l4 12s 6d. No extra heavyweight steers or cows were yarded. Sheep were penned in large numbers, the quality being good, and we report a sharp rise in all classes of mutton. Extra heavy prime welhers £2 5s to £2 7s 9d, heavy prime wethers £2 Is 10 £2 4s 9d, medium prime wethers £1 17s 9d to £2 Os 9d, light prime wethers £1 14s 6d to £1 17s 6d, unfinished and small wethers £1 12s to £1 14s 3d, extra heavy prime ewes £2 to £2 ss, heavy prime ewes £1 12s 6d to £1 16s 3d, light prime ewes £1 9s 9d to £1 12s 3d, Inferior and aged ewes £1 2s 3d to £1 9s. Calves were easier. We quote: Runners £3 158 to £5 7s, heavy vealers £3 to £3 15s, medium £2 5s to £2 10s, light vealers £1 10s to £2 4s, smaller £1 Is to £1 9s, fresh dropped 8s to 16s. Pigs sold steadily at late quotations. Medium to heavy baconers £5 5s to £5 10s, heavy porkers and light baconers £4 10s to £5 4s, light to medium porkers £3 5s to £4 9s, weaner pigs £l. Lamba sold under keen competition at Improved prices. Extra heavy prime £1 14s to £1 18s Od, heavy £1 lis to £1 14s 3d, medium £1 7s 9d to £1 10s 3d, light £1 4s to £1 7s 6d, small and unfinished 14s to £1 3s 9d.
