OKATO FOOTBALL CLUB.

POPULAR MEMBER FAREWELLED.

A pleasant gathering took place in the Okato Hall last night, when members of the Okato Football Club assembled to farewell Mr. L. H. Andrews, president of the Club, who, with his wife and family, are leaving for the Thames district. Mr. R. C. Larsen, the newlyelected president of the club, was in the *hair, and there was a good attendance of members, including visitors from the Star and Tukapa Football Cluhs. A short toast list was honored as follows: ''The King," proposed by the president; "The Army and Navy," proposed by Mr. T. Street, and responded to by Mr. D. S. Fox; "Taranaki Rugby Union," proposed by Mr. J. L. Power and responded to by Mr. J. Garcia. "The Guest of the Evening," was proposed by the chairman. Messrs. McCarthy (captain), J. L. Power (secretary), and J. S. Fox all referred to Mr. Andrews' long association with the Club, and the assistance he had rendered the club in many ways, and also to the fact that he was always a good sport and a good citizen. Regret was expressed at his departure from the district. Reference was also made to the assistance given by Mrs. L. H. Andrews in every movement for the welfare of the district. Mr. Andrews was then presented with a gentleman's companion, suitably inscribed. Mr. Andrews, in responding, said that he had only done what he thought was the duty of anyone who took an interest in football. Other toasts were honored. During the evening a splendid musical programme was rendered. -Songs were given 'by Messrs. W. Willis (2), E. Andrews (2), D. S. Fox, R. Gray, Pearson, Fred Hill, E. Corbett, and recitations by N. Jones (2). Mr. Pearson played ail the accompaniments.
