DEATH BY SUICIDE. Jsy Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, June 14. . John Reid McLean, a, married man, fibout 45, was found dead yesterday at his home, Merivale, with his throat cut. Ho had been living with his wife and daughter up to a fortnight ago, when they loft owing to his drinking habits, and his wife had instituted proceedings for a judicial separation. A CHILD SUFFOCATED. Christchurch, June 14.' Rita Rebecca Thomas, aged four months, was found dead in bod by its mother yesterday morning. At the inquest the Coroner gave a verdict that the child had been accidentally suffocated by having been overlain. He added a rider that the practice of mothers sleeping wTth infants was dangerous, and that a separate basflinet should be provided.
