THE COMING SESSION.

INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES. NEW PARTY PROBABLE. In conversation with a Daily News representative yesterday, a gentleman in close touch with the political affairs of the country threw some interesting side-lights on the possibility of a new party being formed during the coming session of Parliament. It was an open secret, he remarked, tliat_ Mr. Massey's attempt at Cabinetmaking had not met with the approval of all the members of his party, and it was widely known that certain of the Reform members had already declared their independence. To these must be added several new members who were disappointed with the Cabinet appointments, and who are willing to throw in their lot with a' new party should such bs formed. This new party would probably he a Young New Zealand Party, and would embrace the dissatisfied Reformers, most of the Liberals, and a few of the Labor men. "I firmly believe," he added, "that early in the session there will be a split in the Government, and, arising out of this, the new party Will be formed. Whether it will be strong enough to take over the reins of Government is hard to say, but quite possibly a new Government will assume office, or else there will be an election. At present the country is not altogether satisfied with the Government, and this is the most opportune moment for the launch of the long-mooted Progressive Party. One thing is quite certain: the voting at the beginning of the session will be verv different to what it will be at the end. The coming session promises to be one of the most interesting for many years, particularly in view of the great changes brought aliout 'by the last election."
