A BARQUENTINE'S EXPERIENCE. By Teleffraph —Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The six-masted barquentine E. R. Sterling, which arrived from Newcastle to-day, mejt with tempestuous weather ;on the voyage. During the height of the storm the mainsail, miz-zc-ii, and two top-gallant sails were blown away. An exceptionally big sea which came on board shifted the midship deckhouse, which is used as quarters for the apprentices, and the bunks and their contents were washed away. Water also flooded the cabins and did teach damage to the ship's stores. During tlu> voyage an apprentice sustained a broken arm, and was almost washed overboard. The ship's carpenter and the mate also received minor injuries.
