NEW PLYMOUTH WINTER SHOW.

THE CONCLUDING DAY. Favorable weather conditions prevailed for the concluding day of the New Plymouth' Winter Show on Saturday, and there a very large attendance throughout the day and evening; The pony guessing and siieep guessing competitions were decided during the evening. The correct weight of the pony was CM lb, and Messrs A. Thrush (Scott Road, Hawera), 6401b, G. L. Tait (Waitara) and H. Jones (Waitara), each 0431b, tied. The actual weight of the sheep was 2751b, and this was correctly guessed by G. V. Annear (Bell Block), M. T. Priest (Carrington Boad), A. P. Lister (Frankley Road), S. A. Dailey (New Plymouth), T. Smellie (Hillsborough), and S. N. Goodin (c/o J. B. .McKwiin and Co., New Plymouth). The various competitions run in connection with the ladies' stall resulted as follows:—lced cake (No. 29), Mrs. T. Sampson; model house (113), J. Waters, Bell Block;, pen-painted cushion (333), Walter Scott, New Plymouth; tea cosy (33), M. Langley, Vogeltown; doll's furniture (45), Lucy Knight, Tataraimaka; cushion (100), Mr. Espin, Tataraimaka; ham No. 1 (172), B. Stone, New Plymouth; ham No. 2 (87), A. Brooke'r, New Plymouth: ham No. 3 (122), 11. C. Sampson, Hillsborough.

The ladies' committee, who worked so hard throughout the show in connection with the catering, and also in running the stalls in the society's interests, are deserving of the thanks of all for their snccesful efforts.

The organisation of the show throughout was excellent, and great credit is due ; to the president, Mr. W. B. Grant, who was unsparing in his attention to every detail; to the other officials, arid to the secretary, Mr. W. P. Olcey, who had his department running smoothly. The glass blowing essay competition resulted as follows: Edward G. Smith and Muriel Grace (equal) 1, V. Mitchinfion 2, Allen McKean 3. The prizes can he obtained from the secretary of the societv.
