M.P.'s PRIVILEGES.
PASSES ON THE PERRY SERVICE. By Telegraph —tPress Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr, Massey, when asked about t|ie free passes granted by the Union Company to members of Parliament, said the matter originated by a deputation of members from all sides of the House, which waited on him 1 at the end of last session in regard to a number of disabilities, under which they suffered. A suggestion was made by one. member that the company would be willing to give free passes for the ferry service, and in February this year the managing director of the company wrote that, as it was desirable that members should be encouraged to visit all parts of the Dominion, it had been decided to issue free passes during the term of the present Parliament. Mr. Massey added that members for the past twenty years had secured return tickets at single rates. Parliament would take in hand during the coming session the question of privileges and salaries of members, and no doubt this question would then ibe dealt with.
