I TRYING TO EVADE THE TREATY, ' By Telegraph.—Press Assn,—fopyir>j[Ut. Received June 10, 5.5 p.m. Paris, June 9. Replying to the German Government's fresh note to the Allies declaring it is impossible to reduce the army effectives to 100,000, as provided in the Peace Treaty, and demanding that a Reichswehr of 200,000 should be maintained, the Allied Military Council states it is not prepared to depart from the Allied attitude. The reply also presses Germany to fulfil her engagements.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
