DRIFTING.
PLIGHT OF THE HAVRE. ALL WELL ON BOARD. By Telegraph.—Press Asbo.—Copyright. Received June 10, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, June 9. The agents of the steamer Havre state that the vessel is well provisioned, having three months' supplies on board. A wireless message picked up reports that all are well. The vessel is drifting south-east at the rate of three miles an hour. The tug Heroic has been equipped with wireless and has been dispatched to join in the search.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Melbourne, June 9. The mastcrof the steamer Havre has wirelassedTEat the vessel is at its last gasp, and,is incapable of raising sufficient steam to keep sea-way. Everything burnable is being utilised, including the ship's furniture. The Australind, bound from London to Melbourne, is in communication with the Havre, and expects to reach the latter on Friday. Brisbane, June 9. A wireless from the Havre picked up at noon yesterday stated that she was then somewhere abreast of Smoky Cape, drifting towards Sydney. A message late at night indicated that she was steadily drifting. The Champion was not then in touch by wireless. The weather was favorable.
