BOWLING.
ANNUAL MEETING OF VOGELTOWN CLUB. The annual meeting of the Vogeltown Bowling Club was held on Saturday night, Mr. H. Benton presiding. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report stated that the past season had been highly satisfactory.. Tho club was fortunate tn having presented to It for competition a set of silver bowls, known as the Dobson Bowls, and donated by Mr. C. Dobson, and two handsome gold medals by Mr. W. Hookhnm for a pairs competition. The grateful thanks of the club Were extended to the donors, Tho Pioneer Challenge Cup was won by Mr. las. Davidson, Mr. Geo. Tipplns being runner-up after a very close contest. The finances of tho club were assisted considerably as a result of these competitions. The thank of the outgoing officers, were extended to members generally for tlioir loyal and hearty co-operation. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts were just' sufficient to meet outgoings. Tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Officers were elected as follows for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. F. W. Okey; vice-, president, Mr. V. Griffiths; committee, Messrs. \Y. Healy, C. Dobson, C. Robertson, A. T. Moore and A. C. Evans; green wardens, Messrs. Dobson, Evans, and Heaiy; selector, Mr. Healy; delegate to Bowling Centre, Mr. A. T. Moore; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Evans; auditor, Mr. W. P. Okey. GENERAL. A very hearty vote, of thanks was accorded to the donor of £5, who wished to remain anonymous. A similar compliment was paid to Airs. Laureneo for lior generous donation of £l, and to all others who had during the year assisted to Increase the revenue; who had donated trophies, or in any way assisted the club. Tito liopo was expressed that' it would be possible to improve the appointments of the green during the coming season, and £ll lis was promised lu the room as the nucleus of a fund for thir purpose. A committee consisting of Messrs. Griffiths, Browne, Laurence, and Healy was appointed to go into the question and report at a further meeting. Tho cliahanan presented to Mr. Davidson the Piorjeer Cup, which he had gained as winner of the singles championship. Mr. Davidson was heartily congratulated upon his success and Mr, Tipplns, the runner-up, was also complimented on his meritorious performance. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. A. T. Moore, the retiring secretary, appreciative reference being made to his valued services on behalf of the club. Thanks were also accorded other retiring officers. The subscription J'or the ensuing year was fixed at. £2 10s, reducible to £2 2s if paid before December 31.
