Received June 7, 8 p.m. Peking, June 5The Foreign ?J.inistor, in a fitatement regarding the renewal of the AngloJapanese Alliance, declared that the continued treatment of China and its territorial entity can be no longer tolerated, but must be regarded as unfriendly. He pointed out that China had dispatched a memorandum to Britain, showing how China had suffered during the war period through the operation of the alliance. Ho also contended that China became a member of the League of Nations by ratifying the Austrian Treaty, and consequently no contract could be completed between other members, of the League regarding affairs in China without China's consent.—Reuter Service. CONDITIONS OF RENEWAL. BRITISH MERCHANTS' VIEWS. Received June 7, §.50 p.m. London, June 7. The British Chambers of Commerce in China have petitioned the British Government urging that the Anglo-Japanese alliance should only be renewed on the following conditions:— The reversion of Manchuria to China.
