TUKAPA (18) v, OLD BOYS (fl). The above teams met at Western Park In ii match that was conspicuous for its brightness, dash and enterprise on the part of , both teams, and it was not until well Into the second half that the result looked anything like a certainty. Several well-known players were unable to take part, the Tukapa team having to go on the field without the support of Brown. The very heavy rain v.lnch fell almost continuously up to tli'o time of commencing to piny made the field soft and sure foothold was an impossibility. On !i :lccoun t the game rested largely with the forwards, though the (lacks 011 both s/Jes showed some line turns of speed as well as Skill in handling the ball. while there Is no doubt that the better team won, the Old ioys form a combination which no other team m the competition can atTord to hold cheaply Their forwards are on tho light side, and they were not able to withstand the weight i tb . e " opponents on Saturday.
