(From Our Own Correspondent.) June 4. The s.s. Gallic completed loading on Wednesday, and sailed for Wanganui She took the following cargo: 5183 quarters beef and 1473 packages of frozen sundries. I understand the next ship will be the Paparoa, when about 5000 carcases wiil be railed to 'the breakwater for shipment. The main street of Waitara is beginning to attain a city appearance. New shops have taken, the place of old, the latest being the two shops lately occupied by Mr. Sole, which have been turned into an up-to-date marble bar and confectioner's shop. The King's Birthday was a close holiday, and the weather was ideal. The local attraction consisted of bowls, football, fishing, a clearing sale, and the pubs, with a Fire Brigade ball in the evening. Mr. Pitman, from the Mas'terton Cement Pipe Co.'s works, took over the management of the Waitara branch thta morning. The s.s. Wetcre leaves for Golden Bay this morning for fifty tons of ceinent.
