WAJKATO MARKETS,

The Farmers' Co-op. report as follows: Beef.—Beef Is In fair supply with somewhat Improved demand. Tho Southdown works are In operation onco more and the Horotlu branch Is expected to resume at an early date. As mentioned In last week's report the indications point to a rise before many week 3 pass. Mutton.—Mutton still maintains Its ground, and here also higher values may shortly be *ooked for. Store Cattle.—Disquieting rumors combined with wretched weather have rendered the store cattle market practically lifeless: indeed, we must go back a good many years to find a similar depression. The panic 'tare 13, however, generally the most to be feared, and as soon as this has passod buslnes» win no doubt return to normal conditions. Store Sheep—The onarket for store sheep shows little alteration from the previous week. The demand Is still good for anything In forward condition. Dairy Cattlo.— I The severe weather conditions have not been without effect upon dairy cattle, which have appreciably declined.
