"On one occasion, when visiting a hospital, I noticed a man under treatment in tho institution who was worth probably £50,000. On his expressing his satisfaction with the treatment that had been afforded him, I suggested that he should give the hospital board a handsome fee for his maintenance. I was such surprised, however, to learn that he had only paid a maintenance fee of £1 per week. He was sued, but the magistrate ruled that as the amount under the by-laws concerned was £1 maintenance fee 'the patient could only be made to pay that amount." So said Br. Valintine at. the Hospital Boards' Conference at Wellington. It is better to use Nazol too freely than too carefully for inhalation.
