AUSTRAUA'S DUTY OPPOSED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. . The Marlborough Chamber of Goffl« merce to-night considered a letter from' Mr. J. A. Perano, of Tory Channel, pointing out that Australia was imposing an increased tariff on the importation of all fish oils from Id to 8d per gallon. This would seriously hamper tho N«w Zealand whaling industry, as Australia was its chief market. The Chamber resolved to write to the Minister of Customs, asking him to endeavor to induce Cabinet to communicate with the Commonwealth authorities with a view to having the tariff reduced, or a preferential duty placed on New Zealand oil.
