THE PAST WEEK'S RETURNS. The following cases of infectious disease were notified in the Taranaki Health District during the'week ending noon on May 31st: — Scarlet i'ever. —Taranaki 2, Hawera 1. Diphtheria.—Taranaki 2, Hawera 1, Patea 1. / Varicella.—Taranaki 1, Hawera 4, Patea 2. The influenza cases were:— ~, Taranaki, 1)0, 4 severe. New Plymouth, 2; Opunake, 1; Waitarn, 1; 1 pneumonic (New Plymouth). Stratford, 48, 2 severe. Ilawera, CIS, 8 pneumonic; Manaia, 1; Hawera, 1; Eltham C. Patea, 14, all mild.
