ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
WELLINGTON MOTOR FATALITY. By Telegraph.—rrer- Association. Wellington, June 1. Regarding the motor fatality last night it appears that Combs anil Tilly were crossing Jervois Quay in the neighborhood of the Fire Brigade Station and had just .emerged from the rear of one motor lorry when they came straight in front of a second motor lorry which was travelling at a speed of about eight miles an hour. The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late to avert an accident. Combs, who was 42 years of age, was in town on a business visit. Tilly's condition last night became serious, but was reported this morning to be a little better. A MAORI KILLED. Hawcra, June 1. Seven Natives were travelling in a motor-car from Opnnoke to Otiikeho yesterday. When opposite tiie pah at Oeo the car, from some unexplained cause, capsized, but landed again on the wheels. A Native named Waka was killed, and two others, a limn and a woman, were injured and taken to the hospital.
